This notice describes the use of cookies and similar technologies (e.g. localStorage, sessionStorage) on medicalware.it, pursuant to Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the Privacy Code) and the Italian Data Protection Authority's Guidelines of 10 June 2021 (“Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools”).

In case of any discrepancy between this English version and the Italian version, the Italian version shall prevail.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that visited websites send to the user's device, where they are stored and later sent back to the site on subsequent visits. The Italian DPA Guidelines distinguish three main types:

Technical cookies: necessary for the operation of the site or for the delivery of a service requested by the user. They do not require prior consent.
Profiling cookies: used to build a user profile and deliver targeted advertising. They require explicit consent.
Third-party analytics cookies: used for statistical analysis of browsing behavior. They require consent, except for anonymized analytics run directly by the site operator without profiling.

2. Cookies used by this site

medicalware.it is a purely informational corporate website. It does not use profiling cookies, tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party cookies of any kind.

Specifically:

Fonts (Inter, Space Grotesk, JetBrains Mono) are hosted directly on the server (self-hosted) and are not loaded from Google Fonts or other external CDNs;
No analytics scripts (e.g. Google Analytics, Matomo, Plausible) are present;
No tracking pixels, social plugins, or third-party widgets are present;
No videos are embedded from external platforms (YouTube, Vimeo): all videos are hosted directly on the server;
The site does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, or other client-side persistent storage technologies.

The web server may set, transparently to the user, strictly necessary technical cookies (for example server session cookies or load-balancing cookies). Such cookies have limited duration and a purely technical purpose: they do not involve profiling and do not require prior consent, pursuant to Art. 122 of the Privacy Code.

Should the site introduce analytics, profiling, or third-party cookies in the future, a consent banner compliant with the Italian DPA Guidelines will be implemented.
